Thank you to Sheri Andrunyk of IC Publishing for inviting me to be a part of this Writing Process blog tour. I am honoured to be included and look forward to reading the insights of all the wonderful writers participating in this project.
1. Share how you start your writing project(s.
I find my inspiration for writing from many places, but most often, I find it in the stillness. When I sit down to begin writing, I make sure I am in a place of balance where I am the watcher of my thoughts as they flow to me.
The things I write about most often flow from an interaction with a client or with anyone that reminds me of the limited scope with which I also once viewed the world. My posts are always a reminder to me to stay out of my own way as much as they are for helping others navigate their own journeys.
Everything I write is with the purpose of an opening of the mind and heart, an acceptance of what is, and a new clarity combined with the knowledge that we create the lives we live.
A key part of every message is that there are no wrong-turns, only unforeseen opportunities and wonderful new awarenesses. Wherever anyone is on their journey. I encourage readers to continue to discover themselves through unexpected challenges and to listen to their own intuition as they create their own opus in harmony with the Universe.
I hope to inspire my readers to take action to create meaningful change in their own lives by challenging them to look for hidden obstacles and limiting beliefs, and by encouraging them to let go of all the barriers and roadblocks that hold them back.
I share my own learnings openly and without fear of vulnerability so that others realise they are not alone. And, also. that we all flounder – What’s important is rising every time, recognising that we’ve survived, and continuing to take steps in creating the lives we imagine, by honouring the guiding Light within.
2. How do you continue your writing project?
If there is research to do, I do it when I arrive there, as I am never sure how the blog will come to life. I used to plan my post outlines and research first, but I discovered I was creating more work than necessary, as the flow often took me away from whatever I had originally strategised. So, I no longer plan. I set my intention, I let go, and I simply trust in the process.
It is an important part of my spiritual and creative process to spend time in nature where the gentle breezes wash away any thoughts that block the messages that flow from within. Because of this, I thankfully, don’t really seem to have days that are non-creative once I sit down and just begin writing. Sometimes the biggest challenge is to make the time to just sit down and get started. The solution to include blocks of time for writing in my daily schedule seems to have alleviated that problem. With the time assigned, I honour the choice I made when slotting it there.
3. How do you finish your project?
I know the project is done when it feels done, when it resounds with me, and when no other words are needed. I often used to start another project before completing the one previous. I discovered, that sometimes I was not ready to see the answers myself. It’s so funny how easy it is to help others and how resistant we can be to changing ourselves.
Now I allow, without judgement, and without fear. When I go with the flow, life and the writing path both get a lot easier.
4. Include one additional tip that our collective communities could help with or benefit from.
If you do not currently have a social media strategy, it is well worth looking into. The connections I have made on many social media platforms have provided me with the opportunity and impetus to share my message with an even broader audience. I feel so blessed by the responses I have received from readers from around the world who have been touched by my posts as I reach to make a difference.
The Universe truly does conspire to help us achieve when we align passion with purpose.
